In our ever-present desire to expand, the Study Skills department has reached a conclusion. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE!!!
Shocking, I know.
We are looking for 3-4 for people to join our team of amazing (and reliable) Study Skills advisers. Advisers are paired with students that have come to us for for help in any number of different arenas. From a holistic viewpoint, we address issues of time management, stress, motivation, concentration, note-taking, reading strategies, test preparation, speed reading etc, etc...
We also hold monthly training for our advisers to inform, discuss, get feedback and share experience. They're pretty fun.
If you may be interested in joining the team, hop on over to the GUTS website and email us. We'll be in touch and get you advising!

Can you please tell me a little more about your Study Skills program?
ReplyDeleteThe UW Madison Greater University Tutoring Service (GUTS) features a Study Skills program that aims to assist students in developing strategies for consistent improvement and success in various aspects of university life. This involves general study skills, such as time management, memory, procrastination, test preparation, anxiety, reading, and motivation. The program is also working on a holistic approach to study skills which involves focusing on the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of a student's well being. The program staff works to coordinate individual advising meetings for students and group workshops and also features a curriculum speacialist who assists in continuously searching for, revising, and improving study skills materials.
